uman should drink 2 to 3 liters per day so that he could live healthy. Usually in villages the waters are took from river, lake etc. so people will boil the water and drink but nowadays there are R O systems in every house. But you can hear that some people will say that it is not healthy to drink.  You had learnt that water has microorganisms like bacteria etc. To check it take water from tap and take the water with the help of syringe. Keep one drop of water at the needle of the syringe, pass a laser light through it you can see the microorganisms NOTE (do it in night with no lights) Now take the same tap water and boil it and some water from R O. Do the same way I told before. You can see no microorganism in both the statements. You can ask that if I boil the water the microorganisms are already dead then what the reason for buying the R O system. In water there are microorganisms , salts and minerals are also there . Importantly magnesium and calcium also will be there. Which is important to our life . In the same way rocks and salts will be there. To find the total solid particles we use Total Dissolved solids ( TDS ). The water from the coastal areas and the industrial areas has more solid particles. If we drink it continuously e can get affected by Kidney problem , heart problem , cancer more diseases will come . For example take the ground water from a industrial area and boil it at 100 degree Celsius you can see the salts coming out . As I said it is not healthy to drink dissolved solids . In this situation R O water is used. In RO there will be a semi permeable membrane in that tiny holes will be presented. This filter will pass only water not the dissolved solids. This is called Reverse Osmosis that is R 0 . The disadvantage in R O is when we filter the water the R O will remove the minerals that is useful for our body. IT is not a big disadvantage . You can use R O in industrial areas and this session is end we can see you next time
